As part of France 2030, the ‘Digital Health’ acceleration strategy aims to make France a leader in digital health innovation through significant investments. At the heart of this ambition, the Tiers-Lieux d’Expérimentation en santé (France 2030) funds real-world digital solution experiments.

submit up to 2 digital dermatology experimentation projects that are potentially eligible for funding. A selection committee will decide on the opportunity to fund or not the submitted projects

This CFI is part of the national Call for Projects “Tiers-Lieux d’Expérimentation en santé”, operated by Caisse des Dépôts as part of the France 2030 program.

2. A unique ecosystem

Supported by the CHU de Nice and led by Prof. Thierry Passeron (Head of Dermatology, Head of Team 12 at the Mediterranean Center for Molecular Medicine), the Tiers-Lieux d’Expérimentation SKIN (TLE SKIN) is the first digital health experimentation third place exclusively dedicated to skin in France.

By relying on a consortium of multidisciplinary stakeholders, TLE SKIN offers comprehensive support from idea to market:

Unique patient cohort

Cohort of dermatological patients: a diversified patient base at the Nice University Hospital and through the ADL/UGCA network, mobilizable for real-world clinical studies.

INRIA & Dermatology Department of the CHU de Nice

World-class expertise in AI, medical imaging, and dermatological clinical protocols, brought directly to the consortium.

Faster market entry

The RESAH (Hospital Buyers Network) facilitates your access to the hospital market and the Eurobiomed competitiveness cluster supports your regulatory processes (CE marking, Medical Device...).

End-to-end support

From structuring the application to leveraging results, TLE SKIN is an active partner.

3. What the call for projects means for you concretely

The national call for projects is rich but dense. Here are the key points to consider before submitting your application.

This funding is designed for testing — not for deployment

The grant covers up to 250,000 € at 50% of your eligible expenses. It funds experimentation with the aim of improving and/or evaluating your solution. Therefore, it is not intended to equip the hospital for commercial purposes.

TRL 4 minimum — proof of concept is essential

The call requires a technology readiness level of at least 4. Your solution must have been validated in the laboratory. Purely conceptual projects are not eligible. Solutions in pre-CE marking, post-marking or pre-marketing are all eligible.

18 months maximum, mandatory end no later than December 31, 2028

Given the lead times involved in contractual arrangements, you should plan a 12- to 18-month pilot, with an effective start date by spring 2027 at the latest. Projects that are overly long or poorly calibrated in terms of timing are consistently penalized by the evaluation committee.

Standing out from the 106 already funded projects: a central challenge

The national committee knows well the 106 projects already supported by TELs. Your added value must be explicitly demonstrated compared to what already exists. This is where TLE SKIN plays a key role: we help you position your solution in a differentiating way.

The 'selection process' criterion is worth 20%, don't neglect it

The committee evaluates the rigor with which TLE has selected your project. We document together the reasons why your solution was chosen. This is a concrete advantage of being supported by TLE SKIN.

Impact indicators must be quantified from the application

The call requires, for each key indicator: the calculation method, the necessary cohort, the T0 value before use and the target value after use. This is a level of detail that many underestimate. We can help you formalize them.

Our commitment: the earlier you contact us, the better we can support you. We recommend a first exchange before the end of May 2026.

4. Eligible applicants and themes

The TLE SKIN is open to all digital health stakeholders, startups, MedTechs, SMEs and ETIs or specialized laboratories, carrying a digital dermatology solution with a sufficient maturity level and a real clinical or organizational added value.

Our facilities are particularly suited to digital or hybrid solutions addressing:

  • Prevention, diagnosis and treatment of skin conditions (rare diseases, cancers, inflammatory dermatoses, …)
  • Fighting against medical deserts and improving patient pathways in dermatology (telexpertise, monitoring applications, …)
  • Quantification and non-invasive measurement of skin parameters
